In Paul's second letter to Timothy, he continues to exhort him to lead by example and to encourage the flock by how he chooses to always keep Heaven in view. But in this letter, it is apparent that Timothy and the Church in Ephesus are engaged in some sort of severe suffering for the sake of the Gospel. Tensions have risen in Ephesus against "the Way" and this letter is a call to arms for the Church of Jesus Christ! So in this first chapter, Paul seeks to motivate his young, but fully equipped disciple, to suffer well in the face of suffering for his King so that those looking to his leadership would follow suit! Brethren, we are in dire need of men of such commanding presence to lead this generation back to glory! The cost is high, and the odds are stacked against us! But we have been empowered, energized, and equipped with the Breath of Heaven for such a time as this! Let us take up the armory of Heaven, and engage in the only Battle truly worth fighting...
