A Disciplined People (Part 2)

In Part 2, we have a very sobering and weighty discussion over Joshua 7 and the truth that "a little leaven leavens the whole lump" (1 Corinthians 5). God does not play games when it comes to wanting His Church pure, and we as priests of God (1 Peter 2) are tasked with the responsibility of keeping leaven, and hidden idols out of the camp. All of us would probably agree that our individual sin will afftect our relationship with God but what we don't often realize, is that it can affect those around us as well (1 John 1). Our poor example can lead others astray which is why those who are seemingly mature must be an example of integrity in all things! As 1 Corinthians 9 speaks to, we must "exercise self control (discipline) in all things", because there is more that rides on our example than just ourselves, and why eldership within a local Church must not take sin lightly! **This discussion will only truly make sense in light of the teaching from Francis Chan so please make sure to watch his sermon, "When God doesn't listen".
