In one of the more profound, strange, and powerful stories in Genesis, chapter 19 packs a punch in its message to us. Even Jesus, John, and Peter refer to this account as they reference Lots wife, Sodom and Gomorrah, fire and sulfur, and Lots righteous soul throughout the New Testament. What message are we to take away from this chapter? How are we to be challenged, exhorted, given greater awareness, and spurred to never look back to that which will be destroyed, but to always keep our eyes on Jesus as we run out this race? May we utter the words of Paul one day, by the grace of God, when he says, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
