For many in America, Church is a building to go to on Sunday morning. It is more of an event that occupies a few hours during their week rather than a lifestyle that their lives revolve around! But what if we as the Church began to rethink how we viewed Church? What if we forgot everything we knew, or had experienced, and just based Church off of what the Word commanded, and how the early Church lived? What if we started to see each other in our individual Fellowships as a Family on a mission together? What if we truly recognized the need to put the welfare of the whole assembly above our own personal desires and interests, or even our own familes? As we dive into this part of Nehemiah, we discover that the Israelites took a genuine care for, responsibility toward, and priority of the Brethren around them, and the mission they were setting out to accomplish. Leaders were appointed from within, not elected, and others were willing to step up and serve in whatever way was needed in order to benefit the group. Join us as we journey through what it might look like if we were to begin rethinking Church in light of the Word, and take a genuine responsibility for one another...all to stay focused on the Kingdom's mission instead of our own!
