This sermon hits three main points. One, we are commanded to be a people who strive after holiness and do not get trapped by the lure of worldliness, or the "going back to Egypt", no matter the cost. Two, one of the clearest signs of true conviction, is confession! It is the natural progression of a heart under the weight of conviction, as one who is unwilling to confess has not been brought to a place of true repentance! Three, we discuss the foreshadow of the Gospel of Christ in the story of the Hebrews in the wilderness of Egypt! God commands His people to be holy, and we who serve the altar of His Temple must not put polluted sacrifices on that altar, nor offer Him the leftovers of our lives! He is worthy of all our allegiance, and that allegiance is not to be shared with anything else!
