Far too many times, communication break-downs happen as a result of improper listening! And while there are genuine times of not hearing, too often the failure to hear rests with our failure to truly be attentive, patient, focused, and humble. But there is also a difference between just hearing what someone is saying, and listening to what someone is saying, just as there is a difference between working, and working well! In this short sermon, we discuss the difference between hearing and listening...and how we are to be a people who don't just hear what others are saying, but listen with an attentive ear, heart, and mind...and listen well!
